We all fall back on the safety of antibiotics from time to time. We get run down, inflamed and our immune system copes poorly in fighting off infection. We live in an unfortunate age where taking antibiotics in advance is the preferred option to taking time out of our busy schedules for rest and recovery. We have that function to attend, so we use antibiotics while we keep flaming up the fire in our bodies. To say that we have stopped listening to our bodies is an under-statement. Life has over-ridden basic health principles. The epidemic attitude of "soldiering-on" keeps our egos happy while our bodies pay the price. There are of course circumstances where antibiotics are a necessary, however, frequent or careless use may be causing long term health implications especially in the area of gut health, immune and weight regulation. more
