COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

Cosmetic acupuncture is a safe, natural and effective treatment of the face and neck to reduce signs of ageing and achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion.

The effects of cosmetic acupuncture include:

  • minimisation of sun damage(eg discolouration, sun spots)
  • a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles and sagging due to regeneration of collagen fibres.
  • reduced congestion, redness and appearance of broken capillaries.
  • re-oxygenation of the skin so that it appears "brighter".

What does it involve?

A treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile, stainless steel disposable needles into specific areas of the skin on the face & neck.  They are left in for ~ 20 minutes each session.

As well as facial treatment, attention is also paid to the overall constitution of the patient.  Supplementing acupuncture points are used to nourish the body or help correct any internal imbalances that may be contributing to poor skin health.  For especially dry skin a nourishing herbal formula to supplement the blood and fluids is helpful.

Following each treatment, 10 minutes of facial massage with organic rose-hip oil further enhances the effect.  Rose-hip oil is high in essential fatty acids such as Linoleic acid which nourishes and hydrates the skin.

How many treatments does it take to work?

  • A course of 15 sessions is completed over a four month period.
  • Effects can generally start to be seen after the first month of treatment, however the entire course must be carried out to achieve maximum result with long-lasting effect.
  • After a course of treatment the effects can last for 3-5 years.
  • Follow-Up or "booster" treatments are recommended every 1-3 months after the initial course is completed.
